Dean, who will be based at UA headquarters in Baltimore, will oversee the brand’s global vision and strategy for innovation and will work with the design, marketing, product and category management departments to ensure cross-functional collaboration. He will report to Kevin Haley, president of category management and innovation.

Dean has spent more than 20 years at General Motors, most recently as the head of the automobile firm’s global advanced design organization. He has been involved in leading the vision for several of the company’s concept cars and was chief designer of the Hummer H2, H2 SUT and H3 cars. He has a bachelor of fine arts degree in industrial design from Brigham Young University.
