BONJOUR NEW YORK: French designer Vanessa Bruno is to open a pop-up shop in SoHo during New York Fashion Week, which is set from Feb. 7 to 14. The pop-up shop will also serve as a showroom and will be more than 1,600 square feet, according to the company’s international sales director Elsa Poncet. “It is a first step before we open a stand-alone store in New York,” she said.
Vanessa Bruno opened a flagship in Los Angeles in 2010 and wholesales to around 25 doors Stateside. By 2015, the company plans to have between 60 and 80 doors in the country, including department stores. “The U.S. currently represent around 10 percent of our business. Down the road, it could represent 20 to 25 percent,” Poncet noted.
