WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE: A group of people headed to Wednesday night’s Fondazione Prada cocktail in Venice, a celebration of the new “Portable Classic” exhibit, got carried away in their eagerness to get there.
A Prada spokeswoman confirmed that in spite of staff admonitions not to overcrowd a jetty, about a dozen would-be partygoers ended up in the green Venetian waters after the jammed platform detached. “Thankfully, no one was hurt,” she said.
The event, which took place at Ca’ Corner della Regina on the Canal Grande, was a gathering of 700 guests from the art and culture world, such as sculptor Anish Kapoor, historian and curator Germano Celant, and Tate Modern director Chris Dercon.
