Kobe Bryant’s farewell tour has a new element.
The NBA star, who announced that he will retire from the league after this season, is giving fans a chance to find a signed pair of his Nike Kobe 11 sneakers with a scavenger hunt, which begins today.
Bryant has hidden 20 pairs of autographed Kobe 11s around the world and will offer questions that pose as clues to help lead participants to the sneakers. Bryant announced this initiative over Periscope. The clues will be released over social media, although Bryant has not specified which platform.
The non-autographed version of the sneakers, which will be available to purchase on Jan. 9, feature Nike’s latest Flyknit technology that includes thermoplastic polyurethane yarn for durability. This is the first colorway for the sneaker, which is called the Achilles Heel.
