Barneys New York’s association with Russell Westbrook continues to strengthen, with a men’s jewelry capsule collection that made its debut Tuesday.
Since the fall of 2014, the point guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder has collaborated with the upscale retailer and some of its top designers including Public School, on a line of men’s ready-to-wear and accessories. The latest iteration is with jewelry designer Jennifer Fisher.
The Barneys XO Exclusively Ours Russell Westbrook x Jennifer Fisher collection features four pieces made from brass and plated in 14-karat yellow gold. The Dog Tag with a RW logo on 30-inch link chain retails for $395. The Cigar Band Ring with a hidden RW logo retails for $250. The Toggle Bracelet made with custom hand-crafted links, retails for $795, and the Hard XL Chain Cuff Bracelet also retails for $795.
“I wanted to create pieces that would be timeless and unique,” said Westbrook. “I also wanted to make sure that they would be easy to wear — guys can layer the collection with pieces they already have or just wear by themselves. It looks effortless.”
“I knew after the first time I met Russell we would collaborate on some level together,” said Fisher. “Russell embodies the ideal male customer for my brand; individuality, strength and warmth without fear to take risks. He is the ideal JF Man.”
The jewelry will be available online at barneys.com and select Barneys New York stores.
Although this release focuses on jewelry, future collaborations with Del Toro and Globe-Trotter will continue for spring 2016, Barneys said.
Westbrook, a four-time NBA All-Star, has been a darling of the fashion industry since he started showcasing his fashion mettle off the court. He’s the face of Nike’s Jordan Brand, has worked with Swiss watch manufacturer Zenith, underwear brand Kings & Jaxs, and is the creative director of denim label True Religion. He even has his own fragrance with Byredo and an eyeglass frame brand, Westbrook Frames.
