Destination XL Group Inc. has named Sahal Laher senior vice president, chief digital and information officer, effective today. The former Brooks Brothers executive will report to the retailer’s chief executive officer, David Levin, and will oversee the company’s digital commerce strategies and IT and management information systems operations. Laher will also become a member of the company’s executive committee.

“We have built robust omnichannel capabilities, and it is now time to leverage our seamless shopping environment with digital expertise anchored on customer interaction, online experience and personalization to further build DXL’s brand awareness,” said Levin. “With his track record of leading high-profile brands, Sahal is poised to enhance engagement with our core shopper across all channels of distribution.”

Laher has more than 20 years of senior operational experience with a focus on digital and omnichannel strategies. He was most recently executive vice president of digital innovation and technology and global chief information officer at Brooks Brothers. Prior to Brooks Brothers, Laher was global chief information officer at Stride Rite Corp. where he worked on IT strategy to integrate the global supply chain. Sahal also held senior strategic consulting positions at Deloitte Consulting, Andersen Consulting and Data General Corp.
