Eddie Bauer has expanded its customization program to a second jacket.
Last fall, the Seattle-based brand allowed shoppers to take its signature MicroTherm Stormdown Jacket and personalize it through color, linings, zippers and other details. That initiative was successful enough that the company is expanding it to another product.
Starting today, Bauer will allow customers to personalize its Sandstone Jacket, a piece that offers four-way stretch, breathability and weather resistance. The personalization option allows customers to choose from more than one million possible design combinations. Shoppers can customize 12 different parts of the jackets including the body, sleeves, side panels and contrast thread. A personalized message can also be included on the inside of the jacket.
“Eddie Bauer prides itself on building innovative and functional products that enable people to enjoy their outdoor adventure of choice,” said Mike Egeck, chief executive officer for Eddie Bauer. “And Eddie Bauer Custom empowers our customers to personalize their product choice. We are eager to see what our customers create.”
The Sandstone is in the retailer’s First Ascent series and is designed for outdoor activities including rock climbing, trail running and cross-training. The price starts at $129 and is available in men’s and women’s models in tall and regular sizes and petite for women. Additional features can be added such as a hood for $30, a chest monogram for $5 or a sleeve monogram for $5.
The jacket can be ordered online at the company’s Web site at launch and may be available at kiosks in select stores as well in the future.
