Men’s wear designer Jason Scott will open his flagship in New York’s West Village on Tuesday.
The 500-square-foot shop, at 48 Eighth Avenue, will offer the collection’s full line of knitwear and will be located across the street from Acne Studios. It will launch with looks from the Jason Scott spring collection, including dip-dye crewnecks and French terry shorts, which will be merchandised alongside Frame Denim jeans, Garrett Leigh sunglasses and magazines from Kinfolk and Man of the World.
“When I first launched the brand, I had no fashion background and was going into a completely different industry,” said Jason Mandler, designer of Jason Scott. “Now, after only three years, we have this store in New York, which is a huge milestone and a dream come true for us, giving us a footprint in one of the most amazing and competitive cities in the world, among the best brands in the world.”
Jason Scott launched in 2013 with a collection of knitwear in soft cotton with a focus on form, function and product. Among the designer’s best-known pieces are hooded zip-up sweaters, V-necks and varsity jackets. The line is carried in Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Ron Herman and independent specialty stores.
The New York store will be open daily and offer private styling appointments in a separate spot that can be accessed through a hidden bookcase.
