It’s not always about rock ‘n’ roll with John Varvatos. Sometimes it’s about art, too.

On Thursday,  the designer will team with The Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami, for a special shopping event at his Bar Harbor, Fla., store.

The event will be hosted by Miami locals Jack Benmeleh, David Herzberg, Alex Kushner and Daniel W. Schwartz.

The store will display works by Emmett Moore, a Miami-based artist, sculptor and designer, who will cohost the event. Guests will receive a 20 percent discount and 10 percent of the night’s sales will benefit the museum.

“I recognize the impact that ICA is making in the Miami community and wanted to help their mission of promoting contemporary art in the region,” said Varvatos. “I appreciate all kinds of artists, from classic to contemporary to modern, fashion designers to musicians, painters to sculptors, and everything in between, and the funds raised from our partnership with ICA will help support their cause.”

“We’re pleased to partner with John Varvatos to honor Emmett Moore, a member of the ICA Next committee, who reflects the growing community of local creatives who are coming together in support of the museum,” said Ellen Salpeter, director of ICA Miami. “As a pioneering brand and a strong supporter of the arts, John Varvatos is a natural alignment with ICA Miami’s mission to present the most innovative art of our time.”

Moore noted, “Collaborating with…John Varvatos and an institution as prominent as Miami’s ICA to highlight the unique relationship between men’s style, design and contemporary art is a pleasure. As a Miami native, I am always interested in opportunities that highlight the talent we have present locally alongside the style innovators that decide to make Miami a satellite point for their brands.”

The event will run from 7 to 10 pm.
