The prestigious Oxford University has signed a five-year licensing agreement with Turin-based online distributor Brandistribution for the production and European distribution of its namesake men’s ready-to-wear collection.

The first fall 2016 lineup manufactured by the Italian company will be available for retailers at starting from September. The collection will include T-shirts, polo shirts, shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters, cardigan and blazers, all featuring the university’s logo.

“We are happy with this new partnership. The agreement for the production and exclusive distribution of Oxford University contributes to give additional prestige to our company and confirms our status of international reliable players,” said Brandistribution president Angelo Muratore. “The fact that the most ancient and prestigious British university chose a young and innovative company like ours is a clear sign that things are changing. It’s not a case that is becoming the preferred solution for all those brands which want to follow the huge change started by Zara in terms of timing and reassortment of products inside the stores — carrying new and always different product in store is a better strategy compared to traditional sales scheduled six months in advance.”

Founded in 2008, Brandistribution is the global leader in the online wholesaling of ready-to-wear and accessories collections. In 2015, the company saw its revenues grow 40 percent compared to the previous year.
