Saturdays NYC is expanding its retail reach.
The men’s lifestyle brand, which started in 2009, is slated to open a store in Sydney’s Bondi neighborhood this October.
“We were able to visit Australia a few years ago and immediately had a strong connection to the country and the people,” said Morgan Collett, co-owner of Saturdays NYC. “As we discussed our retail expansion, Australia was on the top of the list. Once we found the right opportunity in Australia, we put all of our efforts towards making it a reality.”
The 1,044-square-foot store will be located within the Pacific Bondi Beach luxury residential and retail developments, which are set to open in late 2015. This development sits on Campbell Parade, an area that’s popular for its beach views and close vicinity to Gould Street, a popular retail strip.
Kelvin Ho of Akin Creative, an Australia-based design firm, will create the space, which he said draws from Bondi’s sidewalk culture and will feature furniture made by local artisans along with a coffee shop, which is a Saturdays NYC signature.
Saturdays NYC currently has two New York City locations in addition to four boutiques in Japan. Its most recent opening was in Osaka, Japan. According to Collett, no future retail stores are confirmed, but the brand is eyeing Los Angeles, London and Paris.
