Stag is expanding its retail footprint.
The independent men’s wear retailer, which opened its first store in Austin, Tex., in 2009, has set up shop in Houston. The 3,500-square-foot spot is located in the former Buffalo Hardware space at Westheimer Road and Kirby Drive, a busy shopping area, and down the street from Highland Village, a popular shopping center. They’ve restored the original terrazzo floors and will keep the original storefront design as well.
“We’ve had Houston on our mind for some time now and were really just waiting for the right location to become available,” said Steve Shuck, cofounder of Stag.
The store will be stocked with men’s apparel, accessories, grooming items, gifts and vintage pieces. Stag stocks brands including RRL by Ralph Lauren, Hamilton Shirt Co., Red Wing, Filson, Gitman Brothers and Moscot.
This is the fourth store for Stag, which opened a unit in Venice, Calif., last September, and Dallas, which opened in November.
