Equinox has teamed up with Ten Thousand to become the exclusive retail partner of the design-driven performance men’s apparel brand. The New York-based brand was previously available only online but will now be sold at Equinox retail locations in New York, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Boston and San Francisco.

As part of the partnership, Ten Thousand will work with Equinox’s top-tier trainers on new product development and wear testing. The first product to be introduced under this partnership will be shorts.

“Equinox trainers continue to lead the industry in innovation and expertise, and we’re thrilled to lend their insights to Ten Thousand, a brand that is fully committed to empowering athletes,” said Frank Rappa, senior director of retail for Equinox. “This partnership will help ensure that members as well visitors to The Shop at Equinox can find gear to suit any high performance lifestyle need.”

Keith Nowak, founder of Ten Thousand, said the brand finds it “incredibly important to get feedback from trainers and fitness professionals on our gear. Our goal is to consistently deliver the best possible athletic apparel and to continue to evolve our product design based on input from our customers — which is why a partnership with Equinox is one of the best possible moves we can make to bolster the foundation of our company.”

The partnership launched Tuesday with a push-up challenge hosted at Equinox Greenwich Avenue in New York where club members and Ten Thousand customers competed in men’s and women’s divisions to complete the most push-ups in one minute. As part of the event, Ten Thousand donated $1 to the One Love Foundation, a nonprofit group that works to end relationship violence, for every push-up completed.

Ten Thousand was founded in 2015. Equinox operates 80 full-service health clubs around the U.S. as well as in London and Toronto.
