A look from the Johnnie-O collection.

Johnnie-O has signed a license with Major League Baseball to create co-branded apparel for men and women. This marks the Los Angeles-based brand’s entry into the licensed sports business.

Johnnie-O will create polos in cotton and performance fabrics, quarter-zip sweaters, vests, jackets, shorts and swimwear that can also be customized with the league, teams or licensed trademarks such as the All-Star Game.

John O’Donnell, founder of the brand, said, “To be associated with an organization that epitomizes American culture, we could not be any more proud. We look forward to forging relationships down to the team level and continuing to build brand awareness through the tremendous fan base that is MLB.”

The products will launch on the Johnnie-O and MLB Web sites as well as on team sites and at key retailers.

Johnnie-O is known for its West Coast prep styling for men and boys. Its logo is a guy with a surfboard.
