Mizzen + Main has tapped Richard Ross to serve as creative director.

Ross, who formerly worked as a marketing and media manager at accessories brand Kiel James Patrick, will manage all of the creative and branding for the men’s wear line.

“At Mizzen + Main we understand the power of our brand,” said Kevin Lavelle, who cofounded the company. “We are excited about every ounce of growth that we’ve seen, but we must continue to focus on what makes us who we are. We’ve chosen Richard Ross as our navigator in the next phase of our journey in creating the next great American brand.”

According to Lavelle, Ross, who will be based in Dallas, won’t have a major impact on the brand’s apparel, but the Mizzen + Main team will continue to expand its offering of performance men’s wear.

Mizzen + Main, which was launched in 2012, has gained a following among athletes for its wrinkle-free, moisture-wicking pieces. Last year Mizzen + Main named Houston Texan NFL player J.J. Watts as the face of the brand and earlier this year it raised $3 million in Series B funding. The line is carried at retailers including Saks Fifth Avenue and Northern Grade.
