In a move that further reaffirms its positioning as a casual lifestyle brand, Tommy Bahama has signed a licensing deal with Riviera Paddlesurf for a selection of paddle boards.

“Riviera Paddlesurf is an industry leader. Their commitment to designing the highest quality stand-up paddle boards and their continued support of the SUP community and lifestyle makes them a perfect partner for Tommy Bahama,” said Rob Goldberg, executive vice president of marketing for the Seattle-based brand.

The boards combine technology with island-inspired design and can be used by paddlers of all abilities. There are two 11-foot six-inch boards and one 10-foot six-inch board, each of which is vacuum molded and offers fiberglass, bamboo and epoxy construction as well as a Kevlar rail, carbon standing patch, traction pad and built-in handle for carrying. All of the boards are finished with automotive paint for durability and there is Tommy Bahama-inspired artwork on each.

Retail prices are $1,150 and $1,200 for the boards and $199 for the paddle. They will be available on the Tommy Bahama Web site as well as at select Tommy Bahama stores in California and Arizona.

“We feel that Tommy Bahama has always been a leader in lifestyle clothing and together we can expose more people to the wonderful sport of stand-up paddling,” said Mike Muir, president of Riviera Paddlesurf.

Stand-up paddling is one of the fastest-growing recreational sports for men and women around the world. The brand is also title sponsor of the Tommy Bahama Paddleboard Race and Ocean Festival at the Santa Monica Pier and the annual SUP Magazine Awards. Additionally, Tommy Bahama and Riviera Paddlesurf are both sponsors of professional paddle boarder and waterman Brennan Rose.
