The Critics’ Choice Awards have joined the ranks of ceremonies like the Golden Globe Awards in predicting who will potentially win the Academy Awards for acting performance and more categories. Compared to some other Hollywood awards shows, the Critics’ Choice Awards is one of the youngest ceremonies.
The first Critics’ Choices Awards was presented in 1996. While the awards were still in their infancy, the red carpet was not a major moment for the ceremony.
It wasn’t until 2001 when the awards were first broadcast on E! that the red carpet began to gain some traction. By 2004, the red carpet was in full effect, with stars from Nicole Kidman to Helen Mirren donning evening-ready garments to celebrate the ceremony. Since then, the Critics’ Choice Awards red carpet has become one of the awards season, with gowns ranging from Gucci to Versace gracing the ceremony.
