Angel Sanchez always infuses his bridal collections with soft romance, and his latest lineup, done largely in airy silk gazar and cloque, was no exception. Lace, crystals and beading are the de rigueur embellishments for bridal designers, but not for Sanchez, whose inventiveness was on display this season. He rendered his sleeveless and strapless gowns — and a super-chic bustier jumpsuit that opened the show — with glistening laser-cut stones on the bodices, giving them a modern, architectural look. He also played with mesh cutouts and volume, as in an elegant ballgown with inverted pleats at the waist and a sexy open back. Distinctly feminine touches — such as pale pink ribbon and cascading floral appliqués on sheer illusion sleeves and necklines — created a soft, ethereal feel.
