Dennis Basso envisioned an international woman for his latest bridal collection for Kleinfeld, infusing a diverse range of looks with sophisticated flair. “Years ago, there was a mind-set of one specific bridal look,” he said during a walk-through of the collection. Not so this season. Citing a more modern approach, Basso made sure there was something for every bride, offering minimalist styles — such as a chic tailored strapless silk mikado tuxedo dress with a back bow — as well as more embellished, traditional ballgowns. The gorgeous finale look, a textured ivory silk jacquard short-sleeve ballgown, was also the most interesting. Basso also rendered it in a flirty sleeveless version with a short pleated skirt for a bride who opts to change post-ceremony.
