Jenny Packham typically shows her bridal collection once a year in the spring, but decided to break tradition with a capsule of six dresses for the U.S. market this season. During a walk-through, the designer said she took cues from spring’s ethereal “Midsummer Night’s Dream” inspiration and evolved it further for fall with elegant gowns in sleek silhouettes (and nary a princess skirt in sight), each one treated with subtle green floral embroidery, clear crystal beading and sparkling floral appliqués. The standout dress — a cowl neck style which appeared in the “Casino Royale” James Bond film circa 2006 in an orange hue — was also the most sultry: Packham updated it in white silk with crystallized straps and a low, lace-up back.
