There was a nip in the air at Rivini as Rita Vinieris looked to the first frost for inspiration. Backstage, the designer described her interpretation of winter as “a transparent veil glistening in nature.” To that end, she used sparkle to create depth through airy layers, placing delicate lace over metallic tulle. Key styles included a metallic organza top over a high-low ballgown skirt embellished with 3-D florals, and a deconstructed gown with layers of translucent tulle and Chantilly lace panels. Before the runway presentation, Vinieris showcased several of her lower-priced gowns under the Alyne label. Here she focused on beautiful yet traditional silhouettes, such as a corset gown with circular spiral layers.
