Celebrities, rejoice! Walking down the red carpet in a Stéphane Rolland gown is about to become a whole lot easier. The French designer has traded in his impossibly long feathered trains — last seen on Cheryl Cole and Paz Vega at the Cannes Film Festival — for dramatic capes.
These ranged from a Zorro-like floor sweeper on a chic black wool trouser suit with a plunging neckline, to yards of silk or chiffon billowing in the wake of softly draped evening gowns tufted with tiny feathers. By freeing up the gait, these outfits were designed to make a woman feel invincible. A notable exception was the oversize cape on the final wedding gown, modeled by Chinese actress Fan Bingbing.
