One always knows what to expect from Vivienne Tam: plenty of Asian-inspired prints and embroideries. This season, she called her show “Shangri-la Remix” and offered up a fresh take on her usual East-meets-West aesthetic. Looking to the cultures and traditions of the Himalayas, Tam mixed ethnic elements with sleek tailoring. There were jacquard wrap skirts over skinny pants, slouchy trousers, tailored coats and rich brocades and embroideries. The designer also piled on the layers with cozy Mongolian lamb scarves and collars, making this one of her strongest collections in several seasons.
