For his first runway show on the official Paris calendar, Jean-Claude Jitrois channeled childhood memories of the “belles élégantes,” as he put it, who took their evening promenades in the south of France. Highlights included intriguing ensembles like a fitted black leather biker jacket and white leather skirt, both of which boasted a distinctive Fifties aesthetic, while an evening robe with a quilted leather bodice and delicately embroidered soft leather petals bordered on haute couture. The lineup earned the designer a well-deserved round of applause from his declared fan-base.
