For spring, creative director Natalie Ratabesi explored a new look for the Philosophy brand, one that was cool and tomboyish with skateboard references. She brought her woman back to familiar territory for fall. “She is more sensual than last season,” said Ratabesi, adding that she looked to the early Nineties for the elongated, fitted silhouettes that defined this pretty lineup that, while more mature, was still fresh.
The designer opened on a dark note with a range of black outfits — e.g., a tunic with an acid-wash printed insert worn with slim pants — and then moved into a more delicate palette. A maxi coat with wide lapels looked lovely over an asymmetric top and roomy pants, all in shades of pink.
Fringe was key for evening and came across the bodices of beautiful printed maxidresses with high slits. Worn over tight pants, they gave off an effortless and chic effect.
