“The idea of drastic climate change and an inevitable return to a dystopian survivalist future” was the inspiration at Skingraft, according to the show notes.
But there was no trace of any apocalyptic scenario. Actually, creative director Jonny Cota sent out a bold collection on a crew of hip-hop dudes and sexy chicks. The over-the-top lineup was heavy on bomber jackets and motorcycle coats — for guys paired with baggy pants and unconventional kilt skirts, and for gals with sported fitted asymmetric dresses, sometimes offered in gems-inspired patterns.
For a more polished look, Cota designed a women’s navy quilted crossover coat matched with a turtleneck sweater and a leather wrap skirt, along with a men’s round-hem wool coat trimmed in leather, paired with a cotton shirt and fluid pants.
