McQ Alexander McQueen’s design team continued to riff on the codes of street and youth culture for fall, with leather jackets, faded blue jeans and leopard-print pony skin all figuring in the lineup.

And as in recent seasons, this contemporary collection’s focus was on inventive fabrications, with a straightforward approach to the silhouettes, which this time were laid-back and layered — with an air of grunge.

An oversize cream cricket sweater was inset with a panel of industrial-looking silver foil and teamed with a floaty, asymmetric chiffon skirt, while a shiny silver tailored jacket was crafted from cork layered with silver foil and paired with a matching miniskirt.

There were also some gentle nods to the more rebellious, punk-influenced elements of the Alexander McQueen house, as in a black T-shirt dress embellished with randomly placed studs and cinched at the waist with a corsetlike leather belt.
