While Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos cited the bold graphics of old-school board games such as Snakes and Ladders and Connect 4 as a starting point, their collection wound up having a techno, Space Age feel. The duo worked playful patterns — such as intertwining circuits or colorful checkerboards — onto sleek shapes that nodded to the Sixties and Seventies. One snow-white structured crepe and jacquard minidress was embroidered with metal and lace shapes resembling pinball mechanisms, while a prim forest green swing coat was detailed with amorphous gold shapes in bonded velvet.

The collection — which stood out for its fine execution — didn’t veer far from the duo’s design signatures, in that it piled on the pattern and embellishment. Working those elements against a canvas of largely white and black fabric meant all the decoration didn’t feel like overkill.
