Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen said they wanted to explore a more feminine side of Elizabeth and James for fall. “We normally focus on our relaxed, casual elements,” Ashley Olsen said. “But we always do sexy clothes; we just never really present them.”
A pair of black stretch dresses — one, a mini with lace-up details and fringe; another calf-length with a high slit and tie-neck — proved sultry examples of this new femininity. The collection also contained plenty of knitwear, from chunky, sleeveless turtlenecks to long mohair cardigans.
Outerwear, like a textured knit car coat and Mongolian fur hoodie, was all about making a statement. “It’s what we want,” Mary-Kate said, adding that the fall collection contained many more looks than the tight lineup shown at Chelsea’s Glass Houses. “If I’m wearing a fur coat, I want to feel like it’s a fun accessory.”
