Known for her charming dresses, Erin Fetherston delivered a fall collection inspired by woodland fairies — with results befitting a chic and polished pixie. Channeling two contrasting moods, structured and ladylike versus feminine and light, she worked cotton guipure lace, shimmering jacquards, airy organza and lustrous silks on everything from whimsical flared frocks to elegant gowns.
Done in a palette of mostly ivory and black, with splashes of garnet, sapphire and topaz, the lineup had an aura of girlish innocence. That’s what Fetherston does best, but she also showed she can do sophisticated separates, presenting a strong selection of ruffle-front blouses, lace tops and high-waisted trousers.
