Dark glamour took center stage as Giulietta designer Sofia Sizzi looked to the 1970 Bernardo Bertolucci film “The Conformist” for fall inspiration. The collection, according to the designer, is based on two women: “the Italian beauty, who is feminine and classic, and the French woman, who is androgynous and modern.”

Sizzi delivered on both fronts. She offered interpretations of Thirties architecture via geometric intarsia knits, an airbrushed chevron print suit and a honeycomb devoré application on a top and skirt. Sizzi also paid homage to the Seventies with silhouettes that included flared trousers and a long velvet devoré dress. The overall collection had a vintage vibe, but was executed in a fresh and updated way — down to the hourglass-heeled shoes.
