This season designers Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa said they were continuing their minimalistic journey with oversize shapes, clean lines and unique textiles — but there was nothing minimal about this collection. In a nod to futurism tinged by nostalgia for the Sixties, the cousins presented foiled-mesh trapeze coats, a polyurethane grid shirtdress, a silver lamé skirt and a bronze leather bomber. It was all very techy, softened here and there by flourishes of femininity via butterfly prints on blouses and dresses and floral embroideries on evening looks.
