“I’m always influenced by the Sixties and Seventies — it’s kind of like, my thing,” said Rachel Zoe at her presentation on Tuesday. The stylist-turned-designer kept things simple and chic, working a mostly black- and-white palette into polished looks. A fitted collarless jacket with gold buttons and matching shift, worn over a white turtleneck, set the mood, and a Mod cape version followed.
But it was Zoe’s party dresses in all-over sequin — a short version worn over a black mock-neck and a long version worn with flats and a fur jacket — that were the big statements of the show. “I get asked to do more and more evening, I love it,” she said as a beautiful white long-sleeved column gown with an open back and rhinestone belt and sleeve detail strutted by. We’d love to see more.
