It’s no big surprise that the man who has held the creative helm at Byblos for 10 years can turn out a seriously vampy frock and exquisitely crafted leather clothes.
Now in the third season for his eponymous brand, Manuel Facchini looked to the work of British sculptor Richard Sweeney and the Gothic architecture of Michael Hansmeyer to inform his sophisticated collection.
While Facchini’s dresses were beautiful, especially one gown in a black geometric devoré silk with fine leather, the outerwear was the star.
One oversize black wool coat had sleeves embellished with big eyelets in gold, silver and burnished metal, teamed with a very nice black leather biker jacket. Trousers, mostly skinny to balance the bulkier proportions of coats, also deserve a mention, especially the elegant pair topped with a ruffled waistline.
