Natasha Zinko chose the bar at Mayfair’s Connaught hotel to present her fall collection — inspired by cubism and Russian Constructivism, she said.
Overblown proportions played out in puffed sleeve, diaphanous silk blouses and dresses with gently ruffled collars. There were also high-waist denim pants, jumpsuits in jewel shades and coats — notably a violet number with a fur collar. Black cage style gowns — their exposed seams cut on the reverse — seemed to float on air.
Looks came embellished with intricately beaded fruit from pineapples to cherries, as did fur-covered box bags. Fruits made in white diamonds hung from models’ ears — part of Zinko’s new fine jewelry line.
