Jeffrey Dodd has quietly been growing and evolving his style — and this season he hit his stride with a collection that was sophisticated and chic. Inspired by the works of Jean Arp, most notably his piece “Human Concretion,” the designer interpreted it with beautifully spliced pieces featuring seam details, which he used on everything from a ladylike coat to a dressy skirt suit. Dodd also draped and embellished delicate chiffon into an effortless dress for night, and offered elegant evening alternatives such as a draped jumpsuit, a cropped mink-fur mini jacket, a sequined sweatshirt and a constellation-lace pattern dress.

The constellation motif carried over into a print — the first one Dodd has incorporated into his work — that he used on voluminous skirts and jogger pants. He also evoked a maritime feeling with a navy jacket and trouser featuring exposed seams and incorporated beautiful hand knits that were anything but basic, ranging from a luxe hoodie to a sweater with a leather and suede braid embellished at the hem.
