Mara Hoffman’s fall presentation was based on an imaginary dinner party attended by her three muses: Jerry Hall, Grace Jones and Cher. In her fantastical dream, the ladies lounged on Persian rugs set amid palm trees wearing Twenties- and Seventies-inspired ensembles. An eye-catching zebra-print belted blazer and wide-leg pants, for instance, felt effortless yet glamorous; a botanic-print jumpsuit less so.
Hoffman also highlighted her signature pieces — beautiful maxidresses — with a group of lace-embroidered gowns being the stand out. Elsewhere, a cool mint-green velvet suit was uncharacteristically pared down. “I wanted to represent a woman’s journey, a woman who has traveled all around the world,” she explained.
