It’s not easy separating oneself from the pack in the contemporary market, but Babi and Sachin Ahluwalia, creators of the label Sachin & Babi Noir, have been able to hit full stride with their strong focus on evening and special occasion dresses and separates. For fall, the duo presented a charming lineup with plenty of Spanish flare — all done in a romantic yet modern way.

After a recent visit to the Getty house in Los Angeles, Sachin Ahluwalia was so inspired by the colors and textures in the archives that he wanted to reinterpret it all for the label’s young customer. The result: ruffled tiered flamingo maxiskirts paired with effortless blouses, and a slew of bolero jackets, each intricately embroidered and embellished to perfection. A floral peplum halter top paired with skinny trousers offered a novel approach to evening.

The duo also showed plenty of beautiful gowns, from a voluminous emerald green velvet and taffeta style to a simple black velvet strapless column with a floral cumberbund. Overall, the collection offered a fresh and youthful approach to evening wear — at just the right price point.
