The effect was modern-day magpie at Trina Turk as the designer mixed colors, prints and textures with exuberance in her fall collection.
Turk gave a shout-out to the Seventies with printed bow blouses, wide-leg trousers, bohemian-inspired frocks and plenty of layering. Key looks included a striped top paired with plaid pants and an exaggerated houndstooth coat, a velvet floral tunic dress, and a paisley blouse shown with a crochet-lace skirt. Outerwear was particularly strong, incorporating both faux fur on vests and jackets and bold patterns on feminine coats.
It was all quite bright, happy and lively. Equally as vibrant was the designer’s Mr. Turk collection — which is definitely aimed at the fashion-forward guy.
