There was less of the peasant-girl vibe and more of a dark, Victorian feel emanating from Joie vice president of design Rachel Wilder-Hill’s offering for fall, giving the brand the touch of an edge.

Bow blouses were a new addition, done in white polka-dot chiffon with a thin black ribbon at the neck. The dark hues of black and red paisley print dresses had a perfume of William Morris, while cross-stitch embroideries inspired by Moroccan carpets contrasted nicely on a fluid chiffon blouse.

Velvety suede fringed skirts and jackets in eggplant and a gray let off a more Seventies vibe.
