Masha Ma continued to mine a minimalist aesthetic in her fall collection, which was inspired by the underground techno scene and featured an appropriately intense soundtrack.
She contrasted trouser suits, some with biker padding and zips at the knees, with short dresses or skirts worn with slouchy white leather boots. The suit jackets often looked ill-fitting, especially on a full-gold version that felt like a clumsy copy of Elvis Presley’s famous gold lamé number.
Ma fared better with the athletic looks, which included zipped jackets with overlong sleeves and two-layered sweatshirts with circular cutouts. But her attempt to sex things up by having the last model go topless under a silver body chain fell flat.
