For the show marking the 40th anniversary of her company, Anna Molinari revamped and juxtaposed all the elements that have defined her brand over the decades. There were Molinari’s signature flowers, such as the mimosas splashed on sequined slipdressess and ladylike skirt suits, as well as the rose appliqués punctuating the off-the-shoulder neckline of a flared dress. The brand’s iconic feminine lace gowns and the polished, impalpable skirts worn with blouses with ribbons tied at the collar with soft bows also made appearances. There were also fur-trimmed cashmere cardigans and the cocktail dresses — silver and black styles with matching mink fur were rereleases of archive pieces. As part of the anniversary celebration, Molinari developed a see-now-buy-now capsule of cashmere crewneck and turtleneck sweaters, embellished with the Blumarine logo worked in crystals, available immediately at the brand’s Milanese boutique.
