Gianluca Capannolo delivered a beautiful collection for fall, with a focus on textured and special materials cut in sophisticated, minimal silhouettes. A lacquered woven wool cloth with a glossy finish was used for a trenchcoat and coordinating flared pants, as well as for a shirt jacket and overcoat trimmed with marabou feathers. Feathers also injected a hint of eccentricity into a fluid silk tunic frock, while a T-shirt dress was entirely covered with plumage dyed to re-create a graphic pattern. A sleek white wool double-breasted coat and miniskirt were peppered with fringed hems. Capannolo delivered a concise, cohesive collection that updated the designer’s architectural approach to women’s wear with a touch of playfulness.
