Jacob Park and Anne Deane presented their fall collection at Roll & Hill, an amazing three-story lightning showroom in the heart of SoHo. Models lounged around next to arty furniture and lights in their cool, quirky outfits.

“The first thing that came into my mind as we were beginning to design fall was the current administration, specifically education, and I think Anne and I, since we both come from a literary background, had this idea about the off-duty librarian,” Park explained. “We wanted to make fun, playful clothes that this teacher could go have fun with.” One could see the references — colorful interesting knits, watercolor printed dresses, pussy-bow coats with safety-pin details — and a political message? — and a cool puffy watercolor denimlike bomber jacket stood out.

“This girl is so overlooked — it’s always about this city businesswoman, so we wanted to try and merge those two,” said Park, who clearly did his homework.
