Fall marked a return to tailoring at Theory, where Lisa Kulson emphasized hourglass silhouettes — strong shoulders, nipped waists — in her cool, men’s-inspired suiting. Separates were designed to be mixed and matched: A brown plaid blazer came with coordinating flares but could also be worn with pleated, high-waisted camel trousers or skinny, equestrian-inspired stirrup leggings. Knits done in vibrant hues of chartreuse and bordeaux, and high-gloss patent leather tanks, made for great layering pieces with the neutral-toned suits. Though much of the lineup was geared toward day, a velvet bustier dress and stretch leather pants offered Theory girls something to wear after dark. Kulson’s double-faced wool coats and fuzzy shearling jackets topped it all off with polish.
