Combining comfort and elegance has always been the main goal of Chiara Boni, who built her success on flattering shapes crafted from a sustainable jersey fabric that facilitates the body’s movements with no constrictions. This season, the designer highlighted her core concept by delivering a more everyday collection, infused with her signature femininity peppered with mannish touches.
Quote of note: “I looked at the pictures shot by Peter Lindbergh to portray an authentic, spontaneous and empowered type of femininity,” said Boni, noticing that this season for the first time she styled the looks with flat shoes. “I introduced more relaxed, roomy shapes and some masculine elements, such as tailoring-inspired silhouettes and sartorial printed patterns, which I mixed with more quintessentially feminine designs and details.”
Standout pieces: Chic office suits, workwear-inspired jumpsuits, padded cabans crafted from velvet or checkered jersey, draped cocktail frocks, lightweight maxidresses and white shirts tucked into mannish pleated pants.
The takeaway: With this collection, Boni made another important step toward enlarging her consumer base, widening her product offering to appeal to younger working women who aim to be both elegant and comfortable in their everyday outfits.
