Salvatore Ferragamo creative director Massimiliano Giornetti put the spotlight on outerwear — and texture — for a collection of tailored clothing that was a big step away from the sporty silhouettes he sent out for spring. Handsome coats were inspired by Aztec blankets, with contrasting stripes at the hem and cuffs, faded blots of color woven onto the back, or thick bands of alternating color, such as sage and camel.

Suits were ultratrim: Slim trousers that narrowed at the ankle came with jackets that were either cropped at the waist or belted. Much of the outerwear was abbreviated, as in cropped navy or sage peacoats with contrasting fur collars or a boxy, waist-skimming jacket with leather pocket flaps.
