Island life, whether it’s Capri or Manhattan, was at the core of Michael Kors’ spring collection.

Eschewing a runway show in favor of a more-intimate presentation, Kors played to his strengths with an elegant lineup of pajamalike linen suits, elongated safari jackets in crisp poplin with matching pants, and trenches where “all the stuffing was taken out.”

Crinkly inbox denim, laminated linen anoraks and a hemp-linen belted bathrobe cardigan displayed Kors’ knowledge of luxury textures and served to showcase his sophisticated take on men’s wear.

“Men’s is truly in the details,” the designer said.
