With sound always playing a pivotal role in his life, Marcelo Burlon, who is a DJ himself, dedicated his latest spring collection, showcased with a live soundtrack, to the power of music. The word “Sonido,” which means sound in English, came printed or embroidered in Gothic letters on a range of sportswear pieces, spanning from T-shirts to bomber jackets and short pants. The lineup, filled with staples such as track pants, utility jackets and hoodies — all worked in a range of patterns, including snakeskin and leopard motifs — was as usual rooted in an urban, underground aesthetic. A more sensual, soft attitude was introduced via robe coats and kimonos worked in fluid fabrics, while lace-up pants and bombers were infused with a slightly fetish feel.
