The Cadet designers went on a Roman holiday for their spring collection.


“We wanted to reinterpret Roman military for the modern guy,” said Raul Arevalo backstage before the show.


The updated silhouettes included boxy T-shirts with raglan sleeves, high-waisted fitted shorts, elongated belted trenchcoats and the occasional sweatshirt with printed Latin phrases.


At times some of the garments felt inventive like a cropped tunic with elastic waist detailing worn over matching shorts, but others entered more into the costume territory such as a white crewneck linen top held together with safety pins.
